A Note on Certainty

Is it true?

November 8, 2020

The one thing I thought I knew about life is that death is certain.

But depending on the perspective, death may not be real. Death may not exist. When someone or something dies, does their spirit go with them? Does their soul die too? If there are parts that still remain, then is that death?

It is death to us because the parts that remain are no longer a recognizable aspect of the world we live in. The parts that remain do not fit in the current paradigm we hold about death in this realm.

Rather, we make a transition. Our bodies, physical bodies transition to ash. Our spirit and soul live on in another realm. A realm that is unseen to most people, and unacknowledged by many. A realm that most people prefer not to identify with due to fear.

We fear death because we do not know what is on the other side.

We try to hold on to people and things because it is what keeps us safe. Safety determines a lot of our thoughts and actions. We are constantly struggling to attain safety and security. Our loved ones, even the ones we hate, whoever or whatever we give energy to, all keep us safe and secure because we know and are familiar with these things and people.

Trying to hold on does not change what is to happen. Unfortunately, believing otherwise does not change that either. Or maybe that is a fortunate thing.

Because to understand that you do not have control over anything, or to let go of the false sense of control used as a means to keep yourself safe suggests you are one step closer to freedom; one step closer to living.

We are spiritual beings having a physical experience on a planet we all call Earth yet fear the thing that brings us closer to our true beings.
